Traveling: Style and Comfort Combined

Holy smokes! I feel like this summer has just flown by. Between keeping up with my family, work, dog and social life I’m glad that my head is attached otherwise… well, you know how the saying goes. 

I have been constantly traveling for work and personal reasons, and have experimented A LOT with different outfits and bag. Here are my best tips for people traveling whether it be flying, driving, or a combination of both! 

First of all as always, comfort is key. This striped, long-sleeve loose top has been my favorite to travel in lately! It’s black, which can go with anything, and also loose fitting for a comfortable fit. I find that I prefer to travel with long sleeves, even heading to Texas because most airports and airplanes tend to be on the cooler side. For a more comfortable transition into warmer air, I actually wore a black tank top underneath so I was able to take my long-sleeve off. 

Along with the long sleeve, I’ve found the most comfortable jeans. It doesn’t even feel like I am wearing jeans when I put them on. The raw hem and a little bit of a “worn” look add a stylish element to the travel attire. You can find them here. 

I like to look somewhat professional when I travel since I own two of my own businesses. I always make sure that my hair is somewhat tamed and I have a tiny bit of makeup on, depending on the event I’m headed to after walking off the plane. The thing I like the most about this outfit is that I can throw on a blazer and head to a meeting, or I can pair it with my bomber jacket for an evening out on the town with the gals. Either way, I am SOLD. 

The accessories I carry with this outfit also depend on what I am walking off the plane to. When I’m going to a business event I like to carry my rose gold tote bag with my computer, notebooks, and books I am currently reading. I also carry an extra set of clothes in my roller carry-on bag. This combination is functional and fashionable. 

When I am traveling for any personal events I love to bring my backpack full of my iPad, notebook, and current book I’m reading. I also have my latest purse as my personal item. I can fit them both underneath the seat in front of me, which makes a easy transition off the plan onto my connecting flight. 

SHOES are a huge decision for me every. Single. Time. I try to go for comfort and style both, but most of the time I go with comfort over style. I am always afraid I will end up having to run across a huge airport to my next gate and fashion doesn’t always cut it for that sort of thing. One decision I always make though is that my shoes slip on and off easily for TSA. There is nothing more frustrating than waiting for the person in front of you to unlace, take off, and then re-lace and put on his shoes (husband, I’m talking to you).
